When one works with all males, one notices certain tendencies and changes. One also begins to change herself, and adapt to the ways of the male species. For example, prior to my employment with all males, I was never one to constantly check the toilet paper roll. However, the male species has a habit of not only leaving the roll empty but of also using all of said toilet paper and forgetting to inform somebody to buy more. I would be lying if I said that my eyes do not go immediately to the toilet paper roll upon entering the bathroom…no matter which bathroom or where. This also applies to other bathroom products, such as hand soap and paper towels. Thank you men for making me hyper aware of supplies.
Not only do mean seem to be neglectful when it comes to bathroom supplies, but they are rather neglectful when it comes to the refrigerator. Every morning I watch my dad search through the kitchen and dishwasher in search of a coffee cup…and every morning I have to remind him that he left it sitting on his desk at the office. And every week, I come home with a bag full of empty coffee cups and he seems to always be surprised. And then, I open the refrigerator. For an example, I came home yesterday with a bag of used Tupperware containers that had been left at the office. As I am cleaning them and placing them in the dishwasher, my sister notices one of them and in horror, asks “When did we have spaghetti? Is that the one from three weeks ago!?” Alas, she was correct.
Working with a crew of all men has definitely been a learning experience—from being included in the lunch time “conversations” to understanding [or trying to] why they do the things they do. Forgetfulness seems to be a trademark in the male species…possibly because they have to many other “important” things on their mind?
NOTE:
I enjoy working with the men, and I enjoy my men friends, especially my love. This is not meant to be offensive or to bash men.
Ah, the male species, we are a magnificent breed of species whom is especially efficient at farting, belching, antagonizing, and forgetting.
ReplyDeleteOn the toilet paper front, however, I have had more problems with females than men. Of course, I have no shared a bathroom with a rotating roaster of men, it has generally been either just myself, or a female. I found it especially shocking that females would commit such a crime considering you all have a greater need for the roll to be full than men.
"Important" things are on our minds...though that is a matter of opinion ;)
"Important" things are indeed on their mind; everything has importance to somebody.
ReplyDeletehaha adam said a ROASTER of men instead of a ROSTER of men. a roaster. TIffany you should get a giant roaster and put all of the guys from the shop on there like a rotating bunch of whole chickens for a cookout.
ReplyDeleteon a serious note: DUDE. spaghetti from 3 weeks ago. no tp. this brings back memories of the mikes' apartment. always old food. always no tp. you have hit the nail on the head fo sho.
Haha! I may have to find a large enough roaster to roast the guys on. I feel honored to know that I have hit the nail on the head, and I also feel slightly (though not much) better knowing it isn't just the guys we employ.
ReplyDeleteThe Mike's apartment would be like that. I remember it was out of tp the first time I went there.
